polis MOBILITY

How will we move tomorrow?

polis Mobility at Cologne 2022 & 2023

We have been attending the polis Convention, where urban planners, architects and construction companies meet to rethink the future of cities, for many years and are always fascinated by the topics and solutions on site. This year, we were also able to accompany a new trade fair organised by Müller + Busmann Verlag from the initial idea to the final implementation: polis Mobility in Cologne, which focuses primarily on the question of mobility in the city.

How will we move around in the future? What conditions need to be created in cities today so that we can not only travel more efficiently tomorrow, but also in a more environmentally friendly way? What role will bicycles, e-scooters and self-driving cars or even buses play in the coming years? What infrastructure will be needed and who will make the decisions? And how will space in the city be redistributed between individual modes of transport such as cars, trains, bicycles and pedestrians?

These questions were discussed on site and in many different ways, as the conference programme not only featured around 150 speakers on site, but also gave visitors the opportunity to take part in the events themselves on the interactive stages. The so-called activeSTAGE, for example, invited interested parties to set impulses themselves in themed sessions and focussed working groups, to contribute ideas and to discuss the urban transport transition with all those involved who would normally act separately from each other. This is how a trade fair can build a bridge between cities, local authorities and the private sector: through dialogue at eye level.

The keyword ‘participation’ was also at the heart of the organisation on our side, as the entire conference programme was broadcast in parallel via livestream if you were unable to be there in person. The presentations and discussions are also available afterwards in the conference media centre. So if you want to get an insight into real visionary work and deal with topics such as drive technologies, charging options in the urban environment or autonomous mobility, you should take a look around here: It’s worth it.

In 2023, in addition to directing, stage management and content management, we also took over the streaming. Thanks to all our partners and team!
